  1.                              THE COLOURS1 DEMO       by James Allderidge

  4.     This demo can be run on all archimedes and a5000/a3000/a4000/a3010 but
  5. not the new Risc PC. It is Risc OS 2 and 3 compatible and can run on both
  6. arm2 and arm3 machines.  It wouldn't be that hard to make it run on Risc
  7. PC's but not having one doesn't help me program something for it.
  8.     The demo has only been tested on a300's and a400's, in being a bit
  9. naughty in how it works, it is quite hardware dependent and so may well not
  10. work on newer machines. Feed back would be nice about this. If problems do
  11. occur running the demo on a different filing system might help, eg RamFS.
  12.     The demo will return to the desktop but I cann't guaranty that all will
  13. be well afterwards. Big problems can occur if you run this demo when other
  14. sound players are running, it will run but other players can alter the sound
  15. system and are not generally very friendly and could cause problems after
  16. the demo has finished, if problems occur restart the machine and try again.
  17. One point is that the acorn sound software has to be re-run every time this
  18. demo stars so any user installed sounds will be lost.
  19.     The squash module is needed to allow Risc OS 2 machines to run the demo.
  20. The squash module can be found on the Acorn User November 93 cover disc.

  27.     The sound player is written by Fabrice Mercier and is (c) 1990 Fabrice
  28. MERCIER & The Serial Port. This player is used because best one that runs
  29. through the Acorn sound software and so is well behaved.
